Osbourne responds to lawsuit
Vocalist Ozzy Osbourne has responded to accusations of unfair royalty payments to Bob Daisley . The bassist, who yesterday announced a lawsuit against Osbourne, says that Ozzy's company makes incorrect deductions before distributing the earnings. Check out the response issued:
"For the past 36 years, Mr. Daisley has received his royalty statement and checks twice a year from Blizzard Music, totaling millions of dollars that have been routinely cashed. Mr. Daisley has reviewed Blizzard Music's accounts using different auditing firms, looking for discrepancies. He has filed several lawsuits in the United Kingdom and the United States and has lost on all occasions.".
We understand that Mr. Daisley is currently retired and that these funds are his primary source of income, so it is his right to be diligent with his money, but after 36 years this amounts to abuse. We would expect that after 36 years Mr. Daisley would have lost this obsession and resentment regarding Mr. Osbourne's success. Blizzard Music and Ozzy Osbourne intend to vigorously defend themselves against these actions.”.
Bob Daisley, who receives royalties for composing "Crazy Train," is asking for a $2 million reward.
